How to sign H in ASL

Point your index and middle fingers sideways together, with your thumb and other fingers tucked.

Hold H steady for a moment. It points sideways, which is part of what makes it H.

Left-handed? Sign with your dominant hand; the shapes are the same, mirrored.

Don't mix it up

G: H adds the middle finger alongside the index finger; G uses the index finger alone, with the thumb parallel.
U: H and U use the same two fingers; H points sideways and U points up.
